Nomis Rainbow DVD
The Kettle Illustrated Nomi's Rainbow DVD version of the book is now available! CSPS Cedar Rapids
KETTLE Weather Is Always Nice: Recent Paintings Cedar Rapids artist Kettle (aka John Soukup) studied art at Kirkwood Community College, where he received an associate degree, and graphic design at the University of Northern Iowa, where he was awarded a BA. His work has been shown at galleries and museums throughout Iowa, and has been included in shows in Utah, Virginia, Minnesota, California, Oregon and Wisconsin. His illustrations, whimsical and surreal, have appeared in such publications as Kitten, Copperpress and Art Scene. Nomi's Rainbow, his collaboration with writer Kent Shankle, has been published as both a book and a DVD. His paintings are included in private collections throughout the US, and also in Thailand, Australia, Germany and England. His work is featured at Gravity Lounge, Charlottesville; Henry Myrtle Gallery, Cedar Falls; and Campbell-Steele Gallery, Marion. Iowa State Fair Art Judge
Kettle has been asked to judge the art for this years Iowa State Fair in Des Moines. "It is both an honor and priv-ilage", Kettle quotes. The week long event brings people from all over the US - over 1 million visitors check out the event- US Today lists the ISF as one of the top 10 things to do each summer.

The idea of Cereal Killers, came about from a love for cereal, the breakfast of champions, with those lovable characters encouraging each delicious spoonful. Why not take those characters and rework them, rethink them and reimagine them in a different way?
Bil Betsovic pulled together an impressive list of artists from all over the globe to reinterpret their favorite morning cereal characters into their own unmistakable styles.
Please join us on Saturday, June 9th, 4pm-8pm, at Monkeyhouse Toys & Art Gallery, for the opening reception of a very distinct show to celebrate cereal like you've never seen before. Show runs through June 20th.
